Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@ecofren.ca  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Ecofren.ca provides a wide range of eco-friendly food material products made from bagasse or corn. This includes plates, cups, boxes, cutleries and straws.

Bagasse is a fibrous byproduct of sugarcane harvesting, particularly valuable in the food-service packaging industry, where it serves as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic.

Bagasse comes from sugarcane residue, while corn products are made from bioplastic (PLA). Bagasse is fully home compostable, sturdy, and heat-resistant, while corn products are lightweight and better for cold foods. Bagasse has a lower environmental impact and is more affordable, while corn products require more processing and cost more. Both have a natural, eco-friendly look.
